Bluecheck Age Verification - Any experience?

With all the FDA warning letters being sent out, it’s time to make sure you are not selling to minors.

There are already hundreds of letters in 2017 alone!

So far there are two primary age verification services - Bluecheck and agechecker.net

What experience do you have with these services? Share it with the community.

What else are you doing to to protect your store?

I’ve heard online that you can ask USPS to check ID’s upon delivery (like alcohol orders online). This is a great stop-gap measure.

In this age of young people growing beards and what not to appear more mature, and older people trying to look younger, it is getting harder to tell what age someone is. Do Not Take The Chance ! ID each and every person who wants to handle your merchandise, as well as those who are buying it, who don’t look like a senior citizen.

+1 for Agechecker.net

We’ve been using them for a few years now and have had a wonderful experience. They have workers on the clock 24 hours a day, 7 days a week who manually verify user’s trying to complete a purchase in real time.

We handle thousands of monthly customers and they are able to screen all of our new customers with ease.

What it come down to is how comfortable you are with your shop’s liability. What does your insurance demand ? Does it only demand that you check an ID’s photo to the person presenting and checking the birthdate to the age of compliance ? Or does it demand that you check each one as if it might be a forgery ? Or as if each one might be a possible felon ? or so on.

The FDA does not care if its a forged ID or not. if you allow an underage sale, you are liable.
